ACE Movers opened in 2017 on a single proposition: a Northwest Phoenix Valley moving company should be run by someone who grew up on the 67th Avenue grid, not someone running a Houston or Tampa playbook from a satellite office. The yard sits at 5302 W Glendale Avenue. The phone rings into the same office Linda Carruth has answered since the first week.
The owner
Dale Whitford is Glendale‑born. He walked the halls at Glendale High off 67th Avenue and finished an ASU business administration degree before spending six years (2011‑2017) running operations at the Two Men and a Truck Phoenix branch. Every October he convoyed snowbirds into Sun City. Every May he tested every air‑conditioning unit in the lot. He opened ACE to build the schedule around the desert heat curve and the snowbird in/out cycle — not pretend a national template fits Loop 101.
The team on the truck
Nine W‑2 movers, no day labor, no “independent contractor” loophole. Office, dispatch, two crew chiefs and the working crew — the same names show up on the same routes every week.
| Name | Role | On the team |
|---|---|---|
| Dale Whitford | Owner / Ops Lead | Since 2017 |
| Linda Carruth | Peoria office | Phones, scheduling |
| Kevin Pruett | Surprise estimator | Walks every NW Valley estimate |
| Maggie Sloan | Dispatch | Routes, gate codes, heat‑curve timing |
| Dean Holloway | Westside crew chief | Local hourly, packouts |
| Carl Schroeder | Sun City / LD crew chief | Snowbird cycle, long‑distance flats |

The fleet
Six trucks, all A/C‑capable cabs and box‑deck cargo. Two 16‑footers for one‑bedroom condos and load‑help calls in Avondale. Two 24‑foot box trucks for the Surprise and Litchfield Park three‑bedroom flats. Two 26‑footers for LD runs to Tucson, Vegas and Flagstaff. Every deck is padded; every ramp is sun‑shielded for the May–October stretch.
- 2 × 16‑ft — 1BR, load‑help, tight Glendale alleys
- 2 × 24‑ft — 2BR/3BR, Sun City villa contents
- 2 × 26‑ft — LD runs and full‑pack 4BR jobs
How we work
Kevin walks the home (or videocalls if you’re still in Saskatchewan), Maggie writes the route, Dale signs the flat. On move day Dean or Carl runs the crew — you have a name and a cell number, not a 1‑800 queue.
- Free in‑home or video walk‑through with Kevin
- Binding flat figure signed by Dale, $195 deposit holds the date
- Dispatch confirms the loading window the day before
- Crew arrives, blanket‑wraps the staging area, loads
- Final walk‑through and key‑hand at delivery
What we won’t do
We don’t broker, we don’t hand your job to a partner carrier and call back next week, and we don’t change the figure on move day. If a truck breaks, another truck of ours rolls. The license, the insurance and the worker comp are all in the ACE name on file with Arizona. Browse what we actually do or call (888) 278-9005 to book.
